About Security Guard roles

Security guards provide static guarding services at a wide range of sites including offices, retail parks, construction sites, warehouses and corporate buildings. An SIA Security Guard licence is required, obtained through an approved training course (4-5 days).

The average security guard salary in the UK is approximately £25,500 per year (£12.75/hr). Corporate security roles tend to pay more than retail. Night shifts carry a 10-25% premium. Roles in Scotland are typically available across multiple sectors.
