1. Who We Are
Security Jobs UK ("we", "us", "our") operates the website securityjobsuk.co.uk — a specialist job board for SIA-licensed security professionals in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website.
You can contact us at any time regarding your data: hello@securityjobsuk.co.uk
2. What Data We Collect
We collect personal data in the following contexts:
Job Applications
When you apply for a job, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and any cover note you choose to submit. This information is passed directly to the employer who posted the role.
Job Postings (Employers)
When an employer posts a job, we collect the company name, a contact email address, and the details of the role being advertised (job title, location, salary, licence requirements, and job description).
Payment Information
Payments for job postings are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe may collect billing information as part of the payment process — please refer to Stripe's own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Website Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This data is anonymised and does not identify individual users. No personal data is collected through our analytics.
3. How We Use Your Data

- To forward job applications to the relevant employer
- To notify employers when a candidate has applied for their listing
- To process payments for job postings via Stripe

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Contract performance — processing your data is necessary to provide the service you have requested (submitting an application or posting a job).
- Legitimate interests — we process anonymised analytics data to improve the platform, which does not override your rights or freedoms.
- Legal obligation — we may retain certain data where required by law.
5. Data Retention
- Job application data (candidate name, email, phone, cover note) is retained for 12 months from the date of submission, after which it is deleted.
- Job posting data (employer contact details, role information) is retained for 24 months from the date of posting, after which it is deleted.
- Payment records are retained for 7 years in accordance with UK financial record-keeping requirements.
6. Third-Party Data Processors
We work with a small number of trusted third-party service providers to operate this platform. All are GDPR-compliant processors:
- Stripe — payment processing. Data processed in accordance with Stripe's Data Processing Agreement.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (application notifications, receipts).
- Vercel — website hosting and anonymous analytics.
- Supabase / PostgreSQL — secure database storage for job and application data.
We do not transfer personal data outside of the UK or EEA without appropriate safeguards in place.
7. Cookies
We use a minimal number of cookies:
- Session cookies — used only for admin authentication. These are essential to the operation of the admin area and are not used on public-facing pages.
- Vercel Analytics — uses anonymous, non-identifying signals. No cookie consent banner is required as no personal data is processed.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing cookies.
